North Allegheny Schools

Recently the PA legislature passed a new law restricting North Allegheny volunteers to those who have passed certain background checks.

By doing this, restrictions have been placed on classroom volunteers, field trip sponsors, sports teams/club sponsors, and substitute employees. These clearances are valid for 5 years and then must be renewed, unless the PA legislature proposes other qualifications.

Volunteer opportunities at the  Pittsburgh Cultural Trust include:
Events at the Benedum,  Byham Theaters, Greer Cabaret Theater, or Liberty Magic.

Volunteers handle various tasks  such as:

  • Seating the patrons
  • Scanning tickets
  • Greet Patrons
  • Coat check room
  • Donor lounge

Time committment is a minimum of 75 hours a year with a typical shift lasting 4 to 6 hours.
